Not Really a Problem...
Not really a problem with QB64, but an observation, with the Forum Home Page.

On the Forum Home Page there is a white arrow withing a green hexagon that seems to have a couple of purposes. 1. To serve as a category 'marker' and 2. To indicate if there are 'new' comments within that category. Please correct me if I am wrong...

Well, when I have finished reading a category, I click the arrow to show that I have read it... The arrow is replaced by a blank hexagon...

The next time I login, the arrow (of the category that I had just read) has returned, even though no new messages have been added...

I even, just for giggles, marked ALL categories as 'read'. Logged out. Logged back in... and ALL categories indicated new messages...

Am I making any sense? Am I doing something wrong? It kind of makes it a bit difficult to determine what has been read or not read...

As I said, just an observation....

J

May your journey be free of incident.

Live long and prosper.

Hi Johnno,

I agree, this forum functions differently than the rest I've been on.

Takes a bit to get use to ;-))

I am sorry I do not understand green hexagons with white arrows?

APPEND: OH the thread pointers along the left side, ha! I have not clicked them.

Johnno56 / bplus,

What you are experiencing is a glitch with the forum software. It has been this way since I installed. I am unable to update the forum to a new version do to some changes I made to the internal code. I haven't thought about that issue for a couple of years now, but I will look into it to see why it is doing that.
Thank you fro bringing it back up again. I never would had thought about it if you hadn't.

My goal is to bring joy, excitement, fun and education to all computer programming hobbyists, tinkerers, and amateurs. I also enjoy helping and working with those who aspire at becoming masters of their craft.

Johnno,

This forum is paradise compared to SmallBASIC's.

A little novelty keeps us on our toes, a little novelty. I did say a little?
