Pickover BioMorphs
This is a little project that I've been working on for a while. It's been translated to BlitzPlus, sdlBASIC, and JustBasic. Would definitely like to port to QB64 and FreeBasic later on.

This is still a beta version. As soon as I've finished the zoom feature, I'll release all 3 current versions.

Change equations, viewing mode, background color, spike1 color, spike2 color by clicking on their corresponding  buttons.

Window range, real component of complex constant, and imaginary component of complex constant are changed by clicking on respective current values.

For window range this means the distance from origin (0,0) at center of fractal (center of screen).
A value of 1.5 will look at a window with the following coordinates: -1.5, -1.5 to 1.5, 1.5.
Click on the currently displayed value to bring up a keypad to change the value then click the OK button. Typical values are 0.01 (zoomed in) to 15.0 (zoomed out).

For the complex constant (real and imaginary components) click on the currently displayed value to change. Make sure to click OK button when finished. Typical value are anything between -15.0 to +15.0

The 7z archive contains only 1 file : Biomorphs.exe

RE: Pickover BioMorphs
I remember playing with one of these(?) at SdlBasic forum, the one that looked like a Halloween tree.

I don't remember if that was a biomorph or another fractal,

I don't remember if Andy liked the way I "fixed" it up?

I don't remember how long ago that was?

I do remember I had allot of fun with it. ;-))

RE: Pickover BioMorphs
The halloween tree thingy is an 'Iterated Function System' (IFS) fractal. Totally different.

I forgot about those, I'll post those here too.

Good, I like your stuff.

We are talking about your triangle now at JB.

We are playing with fire.

It is cool, (I mean hot), to see all the different approaches taken given JB limits on graphics.

People can be very resourceful!

Andy_A,

Please let us know when a download contains an executable.

My goal is to bring joy, excitement, fun and education to all computer programming hobbyists, tinkerers, and amateurs. I also enjoy helping and working with those who aspire at becoming masters of their craft.

@Waltersmind - I apologize for not letting you (and others) know about the executables.Blush

I just run a virus scan on everything I download from the net and hadn't given it any thought that anyone else doesn't do the same.

I'll be sure to give a heads up, or maybe a list of files contained in archive.

Cheers

RE: Pickover BioMorphs
Andy_A,

Just a heads up would be sufficient. There are some people (not me) who get a little upset when the see an executable file in a compressed file after they downloaded it.

This forum hasn't had those complaints, but I use to see a lot of them over at QB64.net. I run a virus scanner over everything as well.

My goal is to bring joy, excitement, fun and education to all computer programming hobbyists, tinkerers, and amateurs. I also enjoy helping and working with those who aspire at becoming masters of their craft.
