When the Stars Go Out
When the Stars Go Out

History, Mystery, Doc!

Some louse ran down the clock,

No time shall tell,
Who goes to hell,

For misology, misery or mock!

RE: When the Stars Go Out
bplus,

Bravo!

What you just demonstrated was a creativity play on another person's story. While you keep the same them, and some of the same elements, you have changed the entire story into something knew. This is something I have always enjoyed doing to help me expand my creativity with out the struggles of creating unique and original content.

It's is exactly how I started programming! I took someone else's code and modified it to create something different. This was how I learned what the commands and the language did. This also holds true in creative writing. As with programming code, you can modify the story a bit to create something totally different while keeping the same flow.

Yep, in artist school all they teach is to copy the masters until you get better ideas than the masters or have an idea to make something even better!
